This is a big event – expect over 350 performances from many countries in some 20+ venues – and a broad one, encompassing everything from theatre, music, dance and family events to artist talks, public discussions and artist development programmes. Performing Arts Festival Dublin was established in 1957, making it Europe's longest-running specialist theatre festival. Over the years the festival has premiered work by Ireland's theatre greats and staged productions by some of the world's most celebrated artists and companies.

Festivals team want to make the festival as accessible as possible which includes allowing a space for young people to engage further with work presented so they are equipped to make theatre part of their future. The festival runs a variety of schemes and projects to help foster this relationship between young people and the stage.
Theatre Festival Dublin is pleased to continue this initiative created to increase access to the shows and events in our programme. Open House offers significantly reduced ticket prices for selected festival shows, welcoming community groups and organisations including welfare groups, parent support groups, refugee associations, special needs groups and their carers, and registered charities.
Admission to most Festival+ events is free but ticketed. Advance booking is advised as seats are limited.
