The FRiNGE Festival at the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen was founded in 2005 - following the Fringe Edinburgh, the 'mother of all Fringe Festivals'. Since then it has been developing and expanding constantly. Recklinghausen is THE ONE place for Fringe in Germany, since the Ruhrfestspiele as the first initiator brought it here with the support of RWE.
