Singapore Arts Festival 2020 focus:
This year’s Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) is presented around the theme of potentialities. Focusing on potential instead of actuality feels like a good plan in a year that brings economic volatility, an El Niño that seems to herald intensified global warming (with hotter days and more extreme patterns of precipitation) and no respite
from the relentless destruction of humanity and nature, in our region and beyond.
The art of an arts festival is the knowing of potential when potential is discovered, fearless of the actuality, and revelling in the unpredictable. In last editions, SIFA has been on the hunt for potential, asking performers as well as audiences to actualise their potential on this annual platform.

Singapore Arts Festival will be held 14 to 30 May 2021 in Singapore, Singapore. Singapore Arts Festival is an annual arts festival held in Singapore. It is one of the most significant events in the regional arts scene. The festival has become an international showcase with a distinctive Asian flavor and champions bold and innovative collaborations at the vanguard of contemporary arts. International participants represent 70% of the program, and the remaining 30% comprise local artists. Since its birth in 1977, the festival has played a catalytic role in developing Singapore’s artistic life and has helped transform the city into one of Asia’s cultural capitals. Access to exclusive events can be arranged for the elite traveler. Today, SIFA is the premier national performing arts festival managed by the Arts House Limited and commissioned by the National Arts Council.
