Why Telluride Film Festival 2019?

The buzz out of many acclaimed film festivals is more about the red carpets, the insider’s parties, the paparazzi. Cannes, Toronto, Venice, Sundance, Berlin: these might be the 5 most influential film festivals in the world, and the annual events grease the wheels of industry that fuel Hollywood and Bollywood. But, the cinephile-friendly Telluride Film Festival feels purer, more focused on just the love of great art and the telling of story. This festival has also become more prestigious in the past few years, happening just before TIFF (Toronto) and Venice festivals, in premiering films that go on to win the Oscar less than a half-year later.

Telluride Film Festival 2019 Education Program:

For over 20 years the Telluride Film Festival has presented students with the opportunity to experience the Festival as it was initially intended—a celebration of film as an art, a festival of discovery and rediscovery, and a place to share your love of film with others who feel just as passionately as you do.

You don't need to be a film student. All you need is a consuming passion for film. Seize the opportunity to immerse yourself in a direct and intimate dialogue with some of the greatest filmmakers out there, joined by peers that share your enthusiasm.

Student Symposium:

The Student Symposium is designed for college undergraduates and grad students; all majors are welcome. Fifty students, from around the globe, are chosen to participate in a rigorous five days of screenings and cloistered seminars.

TFF/Roger Ebert University Seminars:

The TFF Education Department works with university professors who bring their own groups of students to the Festival to provide an extra dimension to their Festival experience. Program participants meet with TFF filmmaker guests on Friday before the Festival screenings kick off to prepare them for a weekend of film immersion and diverse programming.
