Aprilfestival 2019:
Aprilfestival 2019 will be the 46th theatre festival for young audiences in Denmark. Aprilfestival is the world's largest festival of theatre for young audiences, presenting a great variety of both national and international performances. It is the perfect opportunity to network, share knowledge and experiences and attend inspirational seminars and conferences.
More than 100 theatre companies will present approximately 600 shows in a single week. And all tickets are free of charge!
The next "Aprilfestival - Theatre for Young Audiences" will take place from April 10th-17th 2019 in the municipality of Frederiksberg - inside Copenhagen.
The Festival will be centered in and around Frederiksberg where the weekend programme as well as events and international meetings, will take place.
Aims of Aprilfestival Copenhagen 2019:
- To present Danish performing arts for young audiences
- To create a cultural event with a focus on performing arts for children and young people
- To raise awareness - and create spaces for networking and competence development
Facts & Figures from Aprilfestival in last editions:
- 120 theatre companies performed
- 3 international theatre companies performed
- 186 performances were shown in 3 municipalities
- 639 shows in total
- 101 visitors from 28 countries took part
- 650 actors and other professionals took part
- 23.646 free tickets were distributed for the weekend shows
- And another 20.000 free seats were offered to schools, kindergartens, libraries and families etc. for shows during the weekdays

Aprilfestival will be held 01 to 07 Apr 2019 in Frederiksberg, Denmark. Aprilfestival is the world's largest festival of theatre for young audiences, presenting over 100 theatre companies, 150-200 different productions and 500-600 performances. Aprilfestival, formerly known as "Festival – Theatre for Young Audiences", is organized by Teatercentrum and takes place every year for a whole week in April in a different hosting municipality.The very first Festival was held in 1971. 15 theatres participated with 25 different shows. During the festival week every single child and young person in the hosting municipality is given a theatre experience, and in the concluding weekend more than 25,000 children, young people and adults come to see the performances, all free of charge. The Festival is also visited by approximately 1,000 theatre people, international guests and theatre promoters. Aprilfestival is an event and I like events...
