SIVA SAI JEEVANANTHAM (@sivasaijeeva)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ANIMALS IN LOVE |In this work, I am trying to understand a topic often considered taboo, Zoophilia, to explore the limits of love itself. Zoophilia, love towards animals, is often only seen as a perversion. I have documented lives of Zoophiles, who don’t necessarily have sexual intercourse with their animals. Zoophiles (People who claim to have an emotional, platonic or sexual relationship with their animals) are often afraid of social humiliation and life threats from the society, thus they hide their sexuality behind the social fabric of social righteousness. According to animal rights activists, Zoophilia is an absurd psychological condition, where people sexually abuse the animals. To counter this argument Zoophiles put forward the idea of love and how it differs from a sexual relationship. It is an uncommon sight and often unacceptable to most of us but we can’t deny that human desire is way beyond what we just see and consider as natural.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On exhibition @hinbusdepot, Penang through through 31 August.
