Brazil Mud Carnival will be held 01 Mar 2025 in Paraty, Brazil. Brazil Mud Carnival is the rising of one of Brazilian carnival´s most bizarre blocks: The Mud Block. On the following year, a larger group gathered and left in a block on a carnival´s Saturday, representing a prehistoric tribe: muddy from head to toes, covered in rags, carrying skulls, lianas and bones and yelling uga, uga, rá, rá. Tourists who saw such behavior sought to imitate it, resulting in the birth of the now annual Mud Carnival in 1986. In recent years, the event has attracted more than 3,000 tourists, with an increasing number of foreign visitors coming to enjoy the party at Paraty. Brazil Mud Carnival has a playful atmosphere as tourists bathe in mud and willingly coat each other in dirt before singing and dancing to live music at the tranquil beachside location. It’s probably not a good idea to wear your finest clothes to this party and get dirty in the best possible way as they throw themselves into deposits of black, mineral-rich slime, emerging covered head-to-toe in the sludge.
