South African photographer Mary Sibande’s “I Came Apart at the Seams” is a striking commentary on race and gender. In it she uses Sophie, a maid, as an avatar to tell her own story, and to pay homage to the generations of women in her family who worked as domestic laborers. She is exhibiting the work at @154artfair in London. Follow the link in our bio to see more on #PDNPOTD. [Photo: “I'm a Lady,” 2009 © Mary Sibande]
