Holding a #fashiondesigner ‘s degree, Sabrina Maroc founded @openbiofabrics in 2015 in France, with the aim of reducing the impact of the #textileindustry on #Nature. Guided by her passion for science and her background in craftsmanship, she experiments with #biomanufacturing through the work of Suzanne Lee (BioCouture) and develops low-tech production systems for #bacterial #cellulose. Then, she will combine these new #biotechnologies with ancestral know-how, with the same desire to share its knowledge. Rich in these experiences and noting the immense potential of #microorganisms still used in a very restrictive way, it promotes #biomanufacturing applied to fashion through monitoring, organization and dissemination of news from companies and #biodesigners who cultivate the living.
