What's on during TEFAF New York Fall 2019 (November 1-5) ~ Are you planning to visit our Fall fair during the first week of November? Scroll down and through the photo's to see three amazing Museum exhibitions and openings in New York City this Fall you can combine your visit with! ~ 1. The @frickcollection presents a temporary installation of sculptures by acclaimed author and ceramist Edmund de Waal (Nottingham, 1964). Site-specific works made of porcelain, steel, gold, marble, and glass are displayed in the museum's main galleries alongside works from the permanent collection. This display fits perfectly well with the mixed Antique meets Modern presentations in our Historic Rooms. ~ 2. The @metmuseum has several ongoing shows during the Fall but we would like to highlight 'The Colmar Treasure: A Medieval Jewish Legacy' to you on view at @themetcloisters, through January, 2020. A cache of jeweled rings, brooches, and coins—the precious possessions of a Jewish family of medieval Alsace—was hidden in the fourteenth century in the wall of a house in Colmar, France. Discovered in 1863 and on view in an exhibition at The Met Cloisters, the Colmar Treasure revives the memory of a once-thriving Jewish community that was scapegoated and put to death when the Plague struck the region with devastating ferocity in 1348–49. ~ 3. Last but not least: a totally renewed @themuseumofmodernart #newMoMA will open right before the start of our fair at October 21! "This October, we'll open a new MoMA. Stunning new galleries and spaces for performance and events will transform the Museum. Along with these physical changes, we’ll be showing our collection in new and unprecedented ways to bring more voices and perspectives to our galleries. Every visit will be an opportunity to discover something new and to connect to art and ideas that spark curiosity, debate, and inspiration." ~ #TEFAF #TEFAFNYFALL #TEFAFNewYorkFall #TEFAFNYFALL2019 #October #November #Fall #HappyFall #AllthingsFall #soon #nyc #NewYork #lookingforward #culturalprogram #whatson #museum #museumvisit #opening #exhibition #ondisplay #theMET #FrickCollection #MoMA
