#NathalieDjurberg and #HansBerg (@hans berg) develop surreal narratives that investigate themes of lust, greed, exploitation, and fear through sculpture, stop-motion film, sound, and installations that border on the absurd. Working in collaboration for over a decade – Djurberg’s claymation vignettes are overlaid with Berg’s soundtracks – the Swedish artist duo creates scenes that are violent, yet simultaneously enticing and whimsical. ‘Who am I to Judge, or, It Must be Something Delicious’ (2017) taps into our erotic inclinations, capturing moments when one heedlessly succumbs to carnal pleasure.
The above excerpt is from one of three claymation films via Djurberg & Berg’s sculptural installation exhibited in #ArtBasel’s 2017 Parcours sector by @GioMarconiGallery and @Lisson Gallery.
