Mathieu Asselin brings his hard-hitting exhibition Stock Market here to Ballarat for BIFB 2019. The French-Venezuelan artist has conducted a 5-year investigation of Monsanto, one of the world’s most powerful corporations, using long-term documentary photography to capture the disastrous ecological consequences of their reckless practices. The conglomerate is bedfellows with global political powerhouses, and persecutes organisations and individuals that attempt to expose their crimes. Asselin places himself in their crosshairs by travelling the world, documenting the impacts of their diabolical corporate greed. See the products of his extensive documentation at the new National Centre For Photography, opening with our full 2019 program on the 24th of August. Proudly supported by Institut Français. [Image: Mathieu Asselin, Edgemont Cemetery, West Anniston, Alabama, 2012]
