Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing! In celebration of this monumental moment in human history, Rebecca Najdowski and Colleen Boyle have curated To The Moon And Back; an exhibition of historical and contemporary works inspired by humanity’s relationship with our own natural satellite. The collection of artworks, media, and scientific artefacts explores the connection between the photographic practice and people’s ongoing fascination with the moon, as well as the cultural legacy the landing continues to inspire. To The Moon And Back takes place in Ballarat’s own heritage-listed observatory, featuring local and international artists including Penelope Umbrico, Matt Lipps, Sharon Harper, Jorge Mañes Rubio, Qicong Lin, Vincent Fournier, Sasha Huber, and Andrew Curtis. To The Moon And Back is proudly supported by Consulate General of the United States of America, Institut Français and Embassy of France in Australia.
