An international research team led by the University of Göttingen, also involving researchers from the Catalan organisation IEEC (Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya), has discovered two new planets that could be friendly to life as we know it, near one of our closest neighboring stars. The "Teegarden's star" is only about 12.5 light years away from Earth and is one of the smallest known stars to date.

Within the studies of space exploration, this discovery poses a lot of complex questions on life beyond Earth, the preservation of humanity as we know it and the territorialisation of other galaxies. Many of the works selected for the upcoming edition of the Festival will tackle these questions from a conceptual and philosophical point of view.
