PROLOGUE: What is the value that an image acquires past a crisis? To follow, the seventh chapter of “A WORLD OF IMAGES, THE IMAGES OF THE WORLD”, a visual itinerary envisioned by @caro16caro and @a legenissel through some of the works presented at #LOOPFair 2019, or a fragmented narrative to make sense of this time. CHAPTER 7: How can we imagine the creation of a common space that points to the notion of collectivity as something to constantly nurture and not a given concept? How to create new ways of being together beyond the stereotypical roles imposed by the traditional society? VISUAL APPENDIX: Presented at #LOOPFair2019 by Albarrán Bourdais @albarran.bourdais (Madrid), the video ‘Movimientos emisores de existencia’ (2019) by Hector Zamora. To think of a better future, it's crucial to redefine old patrons. The video arises from a fascination for the iconic figure of women carrying a vessel on the head to transport water or food, which later unfolds into multiple possibilities of transport almost anything on the head in an ergonomic perfection that results extremely efficient, elegant and sensual. Zamora has been collecting endless images of people from different eras and regions of the world for several years carrying something on his head, as a way of insisting from the image on an inquiry around the burden and strength that this represents.
