John Gollings here and I’m the guest editor of this page until the 19th July. I’m a photographer with a Corona Virus postponed exhibition. I have 67 framed works still in bubble wrap from late March so in lieu of my opening at Australian Galleries I’m posting some of them here. I’m but a recording device in the face of Mike Parr’s self portraits during a performance that tested his physical endurance by sucking sketches onto his face until he passed out. Parr is dauntingly intelligent, articulate and loquacious. In his presence I keep my mouth shut and just worry about the exposure! Mike Parr performance, 100 Breaths (Alphabet/haemorraghe) #2 1992 Edition 1/10. 29 x 42 cm. Framed 44 x 56 Vic Ash painted black Fine Art Archival Pigment Inkjet, Canson Platine Fibre Rag #1, 1992 is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia.
