John Gollings here and I’ve taken over this Instagram account for the next two weeks.
I’m a photographer with a virus postponed exhibition. I have 67 framed photographs still in bubble wrap since late March. In lieu of my opening at Australian Galleries you’ll see some of them here.
In October 1982 the Canberra School of Art held a program of experimental art. I met Jeffrey Smart at one of the exhibitions where he asked if I would drive him to Black Mountain where Stelarc was going to perform one of his naked suspensions. The whole afternoon had a huge effect on me, talking to and photographing two giants of the art world, whilst taking a credible image of a profoundly intense performance.
