LOOP Barcelona 2020 FESTIVAL: 10-22 Nov. ‘20 FAIR: 17-19 Nov. ‘20 We are happy to announce that another edition of LOOP Barcelona will again take place this year! In light of the recent events, we are working towards the organisation of the Fair and Festival with renovated energies, and the objective to keep supporting artists, their galleries as well as those who are involved in making the moving image community grow stronger. As the wise peacock in Basim Magdy's ‘New Acid’ (2019)* affirms, it indeed feels like we have just woken up from a dream. After many days of emptied cities and of wild animals enjoying the freedom of a seemingly quieter world, we slowly begin to regain consciousness and make sense of what has happened. Either good or bad, in fact we know that dreams often provide an access point to something that was left unresolved. They can trigger action and ignite change in our awake life, if we are willing to remember them. "What is the world that you envision for yourself?" - the wise peacock and its animal entourage seem to ask as we wake up. Bringing together artists, curators, museum directors, gallerists and collectors, this year's edition of LOOP will not only provide a platform to showcase the latest contributions to moving image creation, but also a space for shared reflection on the (art)world we can build ahead.
