@prue stent and @honeylong here with another image from our highway series currently in development. This was taken at Lake Hart on Kokatha country. When we took this photo we were unaware of the areas history. Upon doing some research we realised it is a particularly pertinent example of australia’s shameful history in its mistreatment of the land and its Traditional Custodians and needs acknowledgement. this site sits on the boarder of the Woomera exclusion zone, a secret military testing area which takes up one eighth of SA. It carries a heavy history of environmental exploitation and contamination which has effected most prominently the land, animals and local Indigenous people. #massisolation #massisolationaus
