Hello! This is @davidrosetzky here, I am very excited to be taking over the @ballaratfoto Instagram for the next two weeks, and sharing my work - past, present and in-process - with you. I thought I would start with one of my earlier #doubleexposure photographs: ‘Kazim’, 2017 Courtesy of @suttongallerymelbourne. This was the first shoot I undertook for my then forthcoming show @tencubed - and I honestly had no idea what the outcome would be! I had photographed @kazimkane once before - so we had some familiarity - which helped a lot. Kazim was in Melbourne for a flying visit, having recently moved to London, so I was thankful for the opportunity to work with him again. I shot the portraits first and then decided to use a lily as the second exposure. Why? It felt right, it seemed to suit him and the mood of our shoot. And I was keen to experiment with incorporating plants and flowers into my work.
