Legibility, beauty, and mystery are addressed in the labor-intensive work of Koh San Keum. The Korean artist transcribes selected texts from periodicals, literary works, and various documents into nacreous surfaces, using TENS of THOUSANDS of 4mm pearl beads and hand-knitted textiles. In doing so, she not only conceals the semantic context of words but also transforms them into a code of exquisite opacity. ⚪️ Pop over to see her solo show in @GalleryBaton’s Viewing Room – open for 11 more hours!
