Keeping things in perspective is ‘Smooth Sailing’ (2019) by London-based Korean artist @HunKyu.Kim, available via @HighArtParis’ virtual booth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The painting takes a page from the story of Noah’s Ark, a journey that lasted 150 days, give or take, and ended with salvation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Taking inspiration from the aesthetic tradition of Korean silk painting, Hun Kyu Kim crafts phantasmagoric allegorical pictures, combining an almost limitless range of references.
