It has also spawned a number of similar animation film festivals across the globe, but remains the model and chief talent scout. The first edition of Anima Mundi happened in 1993, in Rio de Janeiro. The festival was created by a group of animators and filmmakers who wanted to raise awareness about animated productions and films in Brazil. A festival that aims to inform, train, educate and entertain by using the infinite possibilities of the language of animation.
