Ingmar Bergman Theatre Festival will be held 25 Aug to 04 Sep 2020 in Stockholm, Sweden. Ingmar Bergman Theatre Festival is an international theatre festival in the spirit of Ingmar Bergman. It was an immediate success, inspiring a subsequent festival in 2012. It was established by Dramaten in 2009 to highlight contemporary theatre both national and international, by presenting performances from around the world in the spirit of Ingmar Bergman. In addition to the international guest performances, Dramaten will present a number of new productions as part of the festival program. For eleven days we will present performances, concerts, dialogues and discussions, lectures, film screenings, radio plays etc. The core of the festival will be Ingmar Bergman’s extensive oeuvre as writer and theatre and film director, although the festival will also include performances with no direct connection to his works.
