The Festival celebrates light in all of its forms, from the flickering flame to the light emitting diode. illuminating York invites you to discover the city in a new light, to experience the magical properties of light and be moved by what these illuminations reveal in our surroundings and in ourselves. illuminating York can be experienced in any order and is designed for visitors to be able to jump in and out of the trail, this may be over one evening or across the duration of the festival.
