Finalists compete for over $165,000 in prize money plus internships with leading creative companies such as Weta Workshop. Using the human body as a blank canvas designers create works of wearable art to be exhibited in the annual Awards Show. Designs are brought to life in this spectacular stage performance – a world where theatre, fashion and art collide. The winner of the Weta Workshop Costume & Film Section receives a four-week internship at the Academy Award-winning Weta Workshop. An internship at Weta Workshop offers invaluable experience and contacts in the costume and film industry. The winning designer will work at Weta Workshop, the five-time Academy Award winner for best costume design and visual effects for the Lord of the Rings, headed by co-founder Sir Richard Taylor. This section winner also receives accommodation and return airfares from anywhere in the world to Wellington, New Zealand.
