Who’s Selecting in Arte Laguna Prize :
The selection of the submitted artworks will be made by an international jury composed of high level experts:
- Museum directors
- Curators
- Art critics
They will choose the 6 overall winners for the contest’s categories.
ART. 2 - Techniques:
The Prize is open to all Artists, with no restrictions of age, nationality or any other qualifications. Each artist can participate with one or more artworks, also in more than one section. It is not necessary to submit unpublished works. Below the technical details:
works realized with technical and stylistic freedom (oil, tempera, acrylic, ink, vinyl, watercolor, graphite, pencil, collage, etc.) on any support (canvas, paper, wood, plastics, iron, etc.). The maximum size allowed for each work is 175 cm per side.
- Sculpture and Installation
works created with any organic or inorganic material, they can include sounds, lights, videos, mechanical or electrical movements. The maximum size allowed for each work is: base 4 meters, depth 4 meters, height 8 meters and there are no weight limits.
photographs on analog or digital support, photos including digital elaborations. Works entirely created using the computer can be submitted in the Digital Art section. The maximum size allowed for each work is 175 cm per side. Artists can submit series of photographs. If the entire series falls within the overall 175 cm, the series can be submitted as a single work and it will have to be submitted as one single file. If the total size of the series exceeds 175 cm in total, each part that makes up the series must be submitted as a single work.
videos, films and works realized with any animation techniques on any digital and analog support. Works must last 15 minutes at most, opening titles and closing credits included.
every artist or group of artists can participate with one or more performances, using any technique, expressive form and with the use of any support materials provided by the artist. Finalist artists will perform live during the opening night, in a version which does not exceed 10 minutes.
works entirely created using the computer or digital applications and devices: images, videos, installations, performances in which the use of digital media plays a key role in the creative process and content; net art, software, smartphone or tablet applications, interactive devices, videogames, augmented reality projects, rapid prototyping, etc.
- Environmental / Land Art - conceived and created with Thetis SpA
Projects of environmental and land art works in which the artistic intervention interacts with the environment it has been created for. There are no restrictions in terms of the choice of the specific environment, but there will be a particular consideration for the projects regarding the Venice Lagoon. The projects will have to value nature and its features and more in general the environment or the landscape in which they are placed.
Special venue for the finalists exhibition:
The major collective exhibition which will take place in the historical location of the Arsenale in Venice in March 2021.
The prestigious venue in the lagoon city will host the exhibition of 30 works of painting, 30 sculptures and installations, 30 works of photographic art, 10 videos, 10 land art projects, 5 performances which will be performed live during the exhibition's opening ceremony.
Dedicated venue for digital art section:
The finalists of the virtual and digital art section will be on view at the Future Centre, the Venice home of Telecom Italia, an incubator to develop new business opportunities for telecommunications and new technologies, the ideal place to host the 5 works of this section: 5 ways to understand virtual and digital art through computers, tablets, applications and devices.
