Who Participate in Mozart Festival Germany?
First class orchestral as well as chamber concerts in the magnificent Kaisersaal (Imperial Hall) of the Würzburg Residence (UNESCO World Cultural Heritage) have been part of the festival repertoire since its founding in 1921,
This year including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Kammerorchester Basel, Camerata Salzburg, and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. With Alfred Brendel, cellist Sol Gabetta and first-time Mozartfest conductor Sir Eliot Gardiner a number of world stars are coming to Würzburg. Furthermore, mezzo-soprano Waltraud Meier, who started her career at the Würzburg State Theatre, will return for her 40 year anniversary with a lieder recital. The MozartLabor will take part for the third time with a vocal focus on “Europa im Lied” (Europe in Song). A composer portrait is dedicated to Aribert Reimann, one of the most successful composers of our time.
