Launched in 1981, it has become the most qualified international exhibition of leather and accessories, components, synthetics for footwear, leather goods, garments and furniture. The event takes place twice a year, in February for the summer and September for the winter collections, at the Milan exhibition centre. Lineapelle has been characterised by its constant leadership in quality and style innovation, which makes it indispensable to the leather demand worldwide.

Admission to the show is allowed only to manufacturers of leather, accessories and components (lasts, heels, soles, small metal parts, etc.), synthetic materials, industrial textiles, models for footwear, leather goods. Collections are aimed to the footwear, leather goods, clothing/gloves, furnishings and automotive markets. Finished products (shoes, bags, etc.) are not admitted.At Lineapelle are present about 1,100 companies from over 40 Countries. 

The crucial point of the exhibition is The Trend Area, an exhibition of the most innovative materials supplied by the exhibitors: leather, accessories and components, fabrics and synthetics (about 2,000 samples). After exhibition closing, the samples are displayed at LP Fashion Studio in Milan, where they are available for consultation upon reservation of a free visit. Every sample is labelled and filed in an online database, where all important info about the article appear: company name, brand name, destination of use, etc.
