Ahmedabad Airport:
Ahmedabad Airport of Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport ,IATA :(AMD),is an airport serving both the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Located in Hansol, just 9 km north of central Ahmedabad, this airport got its name in the memory of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of India. As per latest reports, the airport handles around 4.8 million passengers and is considered to be the eighth busiest airport in regards to passenger traffic. The airport was established in 1937 but its international operation started in 1992 only. In May 2000, the Ahmedabad airport was categorised as an international airport. In 2010, the second terminal, which handles the international passengers, was inaugurated. You can also find a 18 feet height statue of Sardar Vallbhai Patel at the airport.
