Festival dei Popoli 2020:
The 57th edition of the Festival dei Popoli – International Documentary Film Festival – will take place in Florence from November the 25th to December the 2nd, 2020.
Festival dei Popoli – International Documentary Film Festival's 2020 Aim:
The aim of the Festival dei Popoli is to promote and circulate creative documentary and cutting-edge films, foster discussion between various branches of learning, and provide a space for the cinematic arts and other disciplines to engage with each other and grow.
International Awards:
a) Official Palmarès:
An International Jury composed of leading figures in documentary cinema will bestow the following Awards:
- Best Short Documentary (maximum length: 30 minutes).
- Best Mid-Length Documentary (length: between 31 and 60 minutes).
- Best Feature-Length Documentary (length: more than 60 minutes).
- Best Anthropological Film : “Gian Paolo Paoli” Award.
Special Mentions may also be granted. The awards will be paid within twelve months of the Award Ceremony.
b) Audience Award:
The festival audience will express their preferences by voting.
Other Section:
For the other sections (Out of Competition, Retrospectives and Tributes, Thematic Sections, Special Events), the Festival Management will invite films they deem appropriate for the Festival programme. These sections are non- competitive and there are no restrictions based on production date.
The deadlines for online registration are:
- June 17 th, 2020 for every film produced before April 30 th(included)
- July 15 th, 2020 for every film produced between May the 1 st and June the 30 th 2020;
- August 19th 2020 for every film produced in the month of July 2020 or still in progress (in this case we must receive a rough copy of the work in progress).
