Paris Techno Parade will be held 28 Sep 2019 in Paris, France. Paris Techno Parade is an annual fun-filled September event held throughout the streets of the famous French capital, Paris. As summer starts to wind down, the parade which attracts around 400,000 people per day is the perfect event to extend that warm buzz into autumn. It is the largest French electronic music event and has been going some 15 years. It’s free to join in and not only for techno enthusiasts, generally the parade brings something for everyone as the moving floats march through the streets of the capital with lively music and entertainment from international DJs as well as local home grown talent. Techno Parade in Paris celebrates a diverse variety of electronic music. Since the late '90s, this concert has grown with the prolific development of electronic musical styles. Fans come out to enjoy house, trance, drum and bass and a variety of other genres in addition to techno. The festival is colorful, creative and full of dancing! Paris Techno Parade is an event and I like events...
Parade participants are quick to point out the unifying spirit of the music, which despite its futuristic electro-sound, draws inspiration from tribal rhythms. “The beats are so loud they hit you in the stomach; the only thing you can do is obey them, and dance,” says one participant. The organizers have been keen to promote diversity, erase class and racial lines, and bring everyone into the same heartbeat.
In 2011, the organizers themed the event “Indepen’ Dance“ as a tribute to the Arab Spring. Tunisian electronic music was showcased on a special float. In 2012, “Renew’all” featured a float of Algerian electro artists.
Since 1998, both known and unknown DJs have been part of the parade. Some are world-renowned, like Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclar and David Guetta.
After the parade The party doesn’t end when the last float passes. Stay tuned for nightclubs doing specials on the night of the Techno Parade.
Take care of yourself Don’t get so tranced-out that you forget to eat, take breaks, and drink water. A 25,000 liter tanker provides access to water, but it might be wise to bring your own.
Move around Different floats feature difference sub-genres of techno music. Find the beats you like and follow them, or drift between floats as the music calls you.
Stay for a while The celebration of techno isn’t limited to the parade. Paris Electronic Week features classes, conferences, round tables, software trainings, DJ workshops, and parties.
