IndieLisboa Independent Film Festival will be held 02 to 12 May 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal. IndieLisboa Independent Film Festival offers the public an unique opportunity: to be able to see Portuguese and foreign films of all genres (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental films, including feature and shorts), which could not be seen otherwise, since the festival’s programme is mostly comprised by works that do not reach the so-called commercial distribution channels. In addition to stimulating the national offer of film programming, IndieLisboa also puts a great effort in creating a bond between guests (filmmakers, programmers, distributors, critics and other professionals) and spectators, providing various professional enriching environments through its parallel activities : debates, seminars, talks, meetings, parties and concerts. IndieLisboa’s main objectives are to encourage authorial creation, boost the circulation of the films and authors - nationally and internationally - and to promote Portuguese cinema in the world. IndieLisboa aims to bring contemporary cinema closer to the greatest number of people.Come to IndieLisboa and discover the best independent cinema from all over the world. IndieLisboa Independent Film Festival is an event and I like events...
This competitive section gathers the work of young filmmakers taking their first steps. Some produced their film within school context, others were fearless enough to do it without any support. Portuguese new authors continue to blossom and we intend to shelter and show them.
Programmed for children between three and fourteen years old, the screenings of this competitive section are presented to students and general audience. IndieJunior intends to contribute to children’s aesthetic and cultural training through an artistic experience different from the ones that television and commercial cinema offer.
This retrospective section is dedicated to those who go beyond the mainstream in filmmaking and help to open new and unconventional paths in cinema.
A program mainly composed of documentaries focusing on music, namely the pop/rock independent scene and its protagonists.
A program of recently restored works, rediscoveries and films which reflect upon cinema itself, its artistic dimension and history.
This section was born unexpectedly and carved its place in the festival. Films that festively march along the cliff regardless any fear.
Special Screenings include Portuguese premieres, acclaimed international premieres and thematic programs.
Fiction, animation, documentary or experimental short or feature films
