The Frankfurt Book Fair offers ample opportunities for exhibitors from the Asian markets. In 2014, a total of 453 Asian exhibitors were present in Frankfurt. Every year, 644 agents are trading rights & licenses in the in the Literary Agents & Scouts Centre (LitAg). Around 10.000 of the Frankfurt Book Fair’s visitors are from Asia.

Everyone is talking about progress - the exhibitors actually show it! This area is the home of specialist information, scientific publishing and education. As such, it’s the place for discourse about the dissemination and communication of knowledge and information – both today and in the future. The technologies and platforms used here are groundbreaking in the world of digital publishing and for its related business models. But the school classroom is also on the verge of a revolution, and is being increasingly digitised.
Rights & Licenses:
The trade in rights, the procurement of titles for translation, the licensing of works for audio book adaptations and suchlike - these activities make up the core business of the Germany Book Licensing Expo participants. The content business at the Frankfurt Book Fair is focusing increasingly on value addition based on cross medial approaches to content, projects and book characters, as well as the licensing of brands and characters, both into and out of the publishing world.
Self-publishing:
Indie authors and self-publishing companies are invited for a day-long programme on new developments and opportunities for self-publishers. Self-publishing has grown around the world to become a strong and vibrant community. It has become a tradition over the last three years for international indie authors and self-publishing companies to meet. In the last edition, authors from over 30 countries attended.
