Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF) will be held 11 to 15 Oct 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF) is the world's largest trade fair for books, based on the number of publishing companies represented, as well as the number of visitors. Representatives from book publishing and multimedia companies from all over the world come to the Frankfurt Book Fair in order to negotiate international publishing rights and licensing fees. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a critical marketing event for the launching of books, but it is also an important event to facilitate the negotiation of the international sale of rights and licences. The Frankfurt Book Fair is at the origin of other initiatives which would not exist without it, and which are very closely linked to its goals and, up to a point, management structure. For five days more than 7,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries and more than 286,000 visitors take part. The Frankfurt Book Fair is considered to be the most important book fair in the world for international deals and trading. Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF) is an event and I like events...

Everyone is talking about progress - the exhibitors actually show it! This area is the home of specialist information, scientific publishing and education. As such, it’s the place for discourse about the dissemination and communication of knowledge and information – both today and in the future. The technologies and platforms used here are groundbreaking in the world of digital publishing and for its related business models. But the school classroom is also on the verge of a revolution, and is being increasingly digitised.
The trade in rights, the procurement of titles for translation, the licensing of works for audio book adaptations and suchlike - these activities make up the core business of the Germany Book Licensing Expo participants. The content business at the Frankfurt Book Fair is focusing increasingly on value addition based on cross medial approaches to content, projects and book characters, as well as the licensing of brands and characters, both into and out of the publishing world.
