Gothenburg Film Festival is the leading international film festival in Scandinavia, and one of the largest audience festivals in the world, presenting 500 films from 89 countries to an audience of over 130 000 admissions to film screenings and an overall audience of 168 000. The objective of the festival is to continue to bring the best international films to the Scandinavian audience and industry as well as to be the number one platform in the world for promoting and screening the most recent films from the five Scandinavian countries. The festival is not just about film. Around 40 seminars as well as music, art, Nordic Film Market and many other activities surrounding the core of films attracted visitors during the festival. Festival's programming group works year round to choose quality films from across the globe. As a visitor to the film festival in Göteborg, you’ll get to see films that never reach the large cinemas. Gothenburg Film Festival 2017 take applications for:

  1. 1. Feature films available on 35mm or DCP, The length must be 60 minutes minimum. 

  2. 2. Documentaries available on 35mm or DCP. The length must be 45 minutes minimum. Please note that we do not take applications for international shorts.


International award:

The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award – open for feature films by first and second time directors from all around the world.
